Pamela shares a fun craft idea your kids are sure to love. Perfect for Mother’s Day, hand rainbows make a great gift with lots of heart!
Mother’s Day is approaching fast (May 12th) . As a mother of three, I know what it feels like to get a gift of the homemade variety. I created this hand rainbow with mom in mind.
What you’ll need to complete this project:
- 6 Pieces of Colored Paper (your choice of colors)
- 1 Piece of White Paper
- A Pair of Scissors
- Glue (I used Elmer’s School Glue)
- A Pen
Place the colored paper in two piles of three pieces of paper each. Take the pen and trace the hand of your little one creating the hand rainbow. Once the hand is traced, using the scissors, cut out the hand through all three pieces of paper in that pile. Then you can either trace the hand again on the second pile of three pieces of paper, or take one of the cutouts and trace it. Once again, using the scissors, cut out the hand through all three pieces of paper in that pile. You will now have six hand cut outs.
Take the white piece of paper and fold it in half. Using your pen, draw a shape of a cloud. Then, using the scissors, cut out the cloud shape. You will now have two clouds.
Next, arrange the six hand cut outs in an arch-like rainbow form. Then place a cloud on the bottom of each hand. Take your glue and secure the hands and clouds to each other.
Allow your hand rainbow to dry then flip it over and record your child’s name and date on the project. You’ll have a wonderful handmade project ready to give to your favorite mom, grandma, aunt, whoever!
