I would love to always make puff pastry from scratch, but life is busy. Since these are one of my absolute favorites, I am going to share a quick and easy way to make them for your family. These crisp palmiers are wonderful simply dusted in granulated sugar or dipped in chocolate!
Ingredients
- 1 box puff pastry sheets
- granulated sugar for rolling
Sprinkle sugar over a working surface. Roll out the puff pastry in to a rectangle about 8 x 13 inches and about 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle sugar over the pastry. Roll up the long sides of the rectangle, rolling both in to meet and touch at the center of the sheet. Press the two sides together gently, wrap the roll in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator to chill for about an hour.
Preheat the oven to 400º. Remove the logs from the refrigerator and cut into slices about 1/2 inch thick. Lightly sprinkle with sugar and place the palmiers about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly golden. Enjoy plain or dip them in your favorite chocolate once cool!
