Kari is the type of mom you wish would teach classes. She keeps a gorgeous home while raising three beautiful children, and still manages to look great anytime she leaves the house! That’s why we love her, she’s nothing short of amazing…
What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?
Whenever I see my kids smile. All children should feel joy and when I see them smile, I feel like I had some part, however small, in making someone happy.
What is the hardest part of being a mom?
I’m always in need of more patience… when mine is tested I don’t feel like the best version of me.
What values did your parents instill in you that you would most like to pass on?
To be genuine, to always do the right thing and to know that you are responsible for yourself and your own happiness.
What do you remember most about your mother or grandmother?
My mom is my best friend. She’s great and makes me laugh more than anyone else I know. She’s a rare kind of person who only sees the good in people. She’s fun, silly and never takes herself too seriously. I should be more like her.
When did you first consider yourself grown up?
I still don’t, but all of the evidence points to the contrary…
How do you stay true to yourself as a woman?
I have a selfish side. I usually take care of myself first thing so I’m 100% there for everyone else. If I didn’t exercise or ‘get dressed’ in the morning, I’d be a horrible version of myself.
How do you juggle work and motherhood?
I’m blessed to be able to stay home with my kids… that keeps my plate full and spinning. I know if I put work in the mix, it would all come crashing down.
How do you destress and relax?
I’m not going to lie, I love to shop. Walking around aimlessly does wonders for me. I also LOVE to read and exercise. A good laugh never hurts either.
What is your favorite memory of when your children were babies?
They still are… some things are still too raw and I’m sure ‘we’ll laugh about it later.’
What is your favorite word? Least favorite word?
I’m totally immature and many words in modern vocabulary make me giggle. I’m not sure about a favorite word but I know my least favorite is CAN’T.
What is your favorite sound? Least favorite sound?
Love the sound of laughter. I’m from Florida, so I’ll always love the sound of the ocean. I cannot stand to hear whining…
Do you have a bedtime routine?
Oh yes… I’m a total creature of habit. I love the FlyLady… her bedtime routine is my bedtime routine.
What is your favorite book to read to your child?
My kiddos are so young. They are loving (as am I) the Llama Llama series.
How did you come up with your children’s names?
The men on my husband’s side of the family have had the same initials for what seems like forever – JJE. We stuck with that for our boys. We gave my daughter my Dad’s initials and his middle name.
As a mom, what is one thing you couldn’t possibly live without?
My MomAgenda planner and my Tassimo coffee maker in the master bathroom. I leave my room fully dressed and awake every morning.
What was the transition to parenthood like for you and your husband?
Fairly easy. We were more than ready.
What do you do to encourage healthy habits in your family?
I try to encourage making good choices when it comes to food and exercise. But I’m also a believer in moderation.
What is most important for your family to do together?
Our boys love to run around and play ball… that brings a smile to everyone’s face.
If you were famous, what would you be famous for?
Wow, I have NO idea…
What advice do you have for new parents?
Carve out a little time for yourself and each other every day.

What a beautiful family!
Thank you!
