What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Is there ANYTHING better than having kids?!

What is the hardest part of being a mom?

To let go.

What values did your parents instill in you that you would most like to pass on?

Confidence.

What do you remember most about your mother or grandmother?

My mother is a multi-talented person. I think I’ve got a bit of that from her.

When did you first consider yourself grown up?

Not a long time ago… and I am now 52!

How do you stay true to yourself as a woman?

I try to play the ‘role’ as good as I can.

How do you juggle work and motherhood?

I have a very supportive husband.

How do you destress and relax?

Sports and television.

What is your favorite memory of when your children were babies?

The first year. I enjoyed every moment with our daughter and my husband because I didn’t need to work.

What is your favorite word? Lease favorite word?

Solidarity. Egotism.

What is your favorite sound? Lease favorite sound?

Giggles. Screams.

Do you have a bedtime routine?

I HAVE to clean my face (make up) before I go to bed!

What is your favorite book to read to your child?

Der Kleiner Nick by Sempe-Goscinny.

How did you come up with your children’s names?

I always liked Antonia, but we also wanted a name that everybody could pronounce in any language. Our daughter is half Brazilian, half German.

What was the transition to parenthood like for you and your husband?

It wasn’t easy.

What is most important for your family to do together?

Eat together. To make decisions together is also important to my family.

What do you do to encourage healthy habits in your family?

I’ve always been very disciplined and I think children get used to that when they see it at home, and then these habits come naturally.

What advice do you have for new parents?

Talk to your kids!
