We’re almost there! At her four month appointment on Monday the pediatritian gave the okay for C to start trying cereals, beginning with rice. Such a big girl step – I’m a very proud mama.
But honestly, what I’m really looking forward to are the fruits and veggies! A friend recommended the Beaba Babycook when I was pregnant. It’s still in the box and I’ve been anxiously awaiting the day we get to take it for a test spin. With a few more weeks to go on cereals, I might just have to whip something up and try it on my husband!
The Babycook steams, blends, warms and defrosts everything from veggies to fish in less than fifteen minutes. It can puree foods down to a consistency that’s just right for first timers and it pairs with lots of fun accessories, including freezer trays for creating small portion ‘ice cubes’ you can later defrost and serve. You can find it at Williams-Sonoma or for more information, check out Beaba online.
Any favorite Babycook recipes out there? I’ve been checking out several of the cookbooks, but I’d love to hear how it’s worked for other moms.

I love Annabel Karmel’s books. I have the Top 100 Baby Purees and the Meal Planner. Her website has great recipes too. Have fun!
Sorry I can’t offer much here…we had a hard time getting Kate to eat anything I made at home other than bananas and avocado (but only when mixed with applesauce!). I hope you have better luck with sweet baby C!! I do have the “The Everything Cooking for Baby and Toddler” book…it had some really good ideas for progressing from first foods on up.
I agree, Annabel Karmel’s books were a great resource when I was making my boys’ baby food. I have First Meals and I highly recommend it.
Has this been a helpful kitchen tool or is it just as “effective” to steam the food and use a food processor?
